B E N W E L L - Starting Gizmo

The Mark II version utilises an uncut Nuova hugger, it doesn't work any better just looks prettier

I have left my device raw for these photo's so you can see exactly how it's made, although we are all model makers so I am sure someone will improve the idea.

It is made from an old drinks coaster, 2 Nuova battery tray posts (you wont be needing them once you've all bought a BD4 anyway :-), a piece of margarine tub (or butter depending on individual taste) and 4 small cable ties. Tools used were a hacksaw, A drill with a 3 mm bit, a Stanley knife and a screw driver to do the bolts up.

Here you can see how the wedge shape of the margarine tub grips the rear tyre and will accommodate all available widths. This is a PMT tyre

And again with a Nuova treaded soft compound tyre

Dead easy and very effective. The way I see it we could all line up Le-Mans style (see diagram below)

Using this method I have calculated that each bike will be less than 10' from the perpendicular, and there is virtually no danger of bikes at the back of the grid hitting the starting gizmos of the bikes in front. Obviously the stagger could be increased as necessary
