******************************************************************************** ***************************Team Benwell Short Test Report*********************** ******************************************************************************** Test Number: 016 Name: Ian Foxwell Chassis: NF502 chassis no. 1 Date: 23-04-02 Time: 18.40 Place: Travel lodge Gravesend Weather: Dry Object of test: Evaluate alternative shock positions and castor angles ******************************************************************************** Modifications: Drilled extra hole nearer rear but at same height as first mod hole. I.e shock will effectivly be slightly stiffer but with leass rising rate ******************************************************************************** Results: Diapointing. Hard to say whats happening really. Generaly felt worse trying to get out of the really slow corners which are probably not representative of racing any way. At other times felt slightly harder to drift and felt as though it wanted to break into a grade 3 osscelation but never really did. Generaly inconclusive Might drill another hole nearer front to see if softer but more rising rate is better. Bike with swing arm as standard would be more like this. Reduced front fork rake. Again inconclusive. Appeared to steer slightly better but less precise with more cat 1 osscelations. HOWEVER extra steering may have come from increased ride height at front resulting in better bank and less grounding of faring, which is becoming an issue for me. Might try lengthing forks and increaseing rake again to see what effect ground clearance is having at front.
