******************************************************************************** ***************************Team Benwell Short Test Report*********************** ******************************************************************************** Test Number: 018 Name: Ian Foxwell Chassis: NF502 chassis no. 1 Date: 24-04-02 Time: 13.00 Place: Travel lodge Gravesend Weather: Dry Object of test: Evaluate usefulness of grippy tyres by increasing angle of lean through corner. Idea being that this is faster and it may be easier to spin up the back tyre and steer with the rear like the standard tyres ******************************************************************************** Modifications: Fit cut slicks and shorter side guards ******************************************************************************** Results: inconclusive at best. Had to say with out timing around a course. Does make the crashes worse when they happen and the bike often doesn’t self right with the shorter guards and requires marshalling. I think it may have an advantage around a track at first when the rider hasn’t got the confidence in the kit tyres but once you can control the slide will be harder to say. Must test around west London. Remind me if I forget.
