******************************************************************************** ***************************Team Benwell Short Test Report*********************** ******************************************************************************** Test Number: 019 Name: Mark Bennett Chassis: NF502 chassis no. 2 Date: 25-04-02 Time: 12.00 Place: Elm court Weather: Object of test: a: further prove Ian's Wobble catagory test b: test for steering pre-empting as experienced in test 013 ******************************************************************************** Modifications: remove extra damping from front steering damper, then back to back test by replacing it steering silicon pinched between collets front steering assembly tightened up rear shock rebuilt with 6,500 wt oil new lautenbach diapragm and cut down rebound pring ******************************************************************************** Results: objective 1 was proved and in the end I ran without a steering damper. didn't notice and cat 1 or 2 wobbles and the cat 3 wobbles were catchable. It became noticeable that my new motor was just as slow as the old one, so further investigation is needed, posibly with speed controller objective 2 was not proved. pinching the silicone between the collets made no difference and only after fitting Ian's servo horn/silicon unit did my problem go away. Another problem became apparent during the test in that the fairing is grinding along the tarmac. This is due to the fact that I am running the back of the bike much lower To Do next: lengthen front forks 1mm more front fork rake re-think rear rebound spring (stiffer) servo horn (try springs again)
