******************************************************************************** ***************************Team Benwell Short Test Report*********************** ******************************************************************************** Test Number: 046 Name: Ian Foxwell Chassis: BD4 Prototype Date: 23-02-03 Time: 16.00 Place: Travel lodge Weather: Dry Object of test: Steering Damper ******************************************************************************** Modifications: Benwelled steering damper with 2mm silicon and silicon grease. I.e. quite stiff! ******************************************************************************** Results: This was going to be me just having some fun but then I thought, seeing as Im not getting any cat 1 or cat 3 wobbles now if I was to just stiffen the steering damper it should get rid of the few cat 2’s remaining, and all will be great. Well… It did get rid of the cat 2’s and didn’t make the cat 1’s or 3’s appear but generally the bike was awful. Where as it tends to sort itself out on those odd occasions when the bike just steps out of line or you hit a stone and it shimmy’s, now it wouldn’t. The good news is I didn’t break it but for the first time in a long while I stopped at about 6mm as I didn’t want to find out what broke first.
