******************************************************************************** ******************************Team Benwell Setup Report************************* ******************************************************************************** Setup Number: 006 Name: Ian Foxwell Chassis: NF502 chassis no. 1 Date: 08-07-02 Time: 16:00 Place: Derby Weather: Warm dry Object of test: Document current setup ******************************************************************************** Modifications: Complete fron fork assembly lowered 4mm Rear swing arm in lowest possible position Batteries in highest position Rear seat body mounted in standard location Forks fitted to alli yokes. All screws (wheel and fork) done up tight Ride height set with batteries completely level. Front forks at max rake position. Note my ali crash back mount has had approx 2mm filed off to increase this if required but is currently at standard position. Crash back fitted with silicon tube increaseing stiffness Rider figure lowered so that head is only just clear of tank and arms go well down inside faring. Done to lower weight and reduce rider wobble. Rear shock has 5000wt oil, hole drilled in cap and stiffer rebound spring. Set so that it is not quite doing anything at normal ride height. Top shock mount using the extra lower whole in the standard central position Front forks with seal and small amount of 40wt oil. Steel fork legs Receiver tray removed. receiver located between servos Servos located in my normal position running spring steering set with 28mm preload. Trani break set at 6clicks off max Speedo brake set at min 50%, max50% ?? mistake 13x1 Peak motor running 69x14 standard gearing Steering damper running benwell setup using 1.5mm silicon + greese Crash bar mount in rear location with front lower than rear Crash bars made from thicker 12gauge?? wire Kit front tyre + Nouva Faor treaded rear. (Half worn) Rider trimmed to reduce weight as much as poss. Not easy but every little helps. Total all up weight currently 2050grm ******************************************************************************** Results: Hard work. Severe cat 2 wobbles but raceable. Won meeting ******************************************************************************** Next meeting try: Less rake and less steering damper but much more spring preload on steering.
